International Postcard Show 2016
1] Sightseeing, mixed media postcard, 6 x 4 inches
2] Together, mixed media postcard, 6 x 4 inches
Two postcards I sent off to Nottingham for Surface Gallery’s International Postcard Show. Both postcards have a base of paper ephemera- a mixture of train tickets and car park ticket stubs with acrylic ink, watercolour and ink pens. Together has found vintage anatomy images- the heart in the middle has also been cut apart and hand stitched together with black thread.
Will be nice to start off this year with an exhibition with artists from around the world.

Inktober/Drawlloween 2015 #15-20

Creature from the Black Lagoon- the texture underneath the ink drawing itself is a Starbucks brown paper bag
Inktober and Drawlloween days 15-20
A little bit of a catch up post to upload my drawings from the past couple of days.
Each image has a caption to show the prompt for each day- thought it would be easier that way rather than just listing them all.
New Artwork Box frame- Sit and Stir
Sit and Stir, paper, ceramic, paint, ink, collage in box frame, 11.5 x 11.5cm
Another box frame completed with a shard of my broken mug.
I have two pieces left of the mug but they’re much larger than this, may have to get a couple of larger frames as i really do love making these.
I’m also thinking about selling them, will have to be in the UK however as I’d be worried about them surviving shipping overseas.

Artwork: Fractals
Fractals, ink and acrylic paint on cotton fabric, 14.5cm x 9cm.
My first artwork based on one of the poems in Loqui by Greg Webster I bought a few months ago.
I based a lot of the imagery in the piece on the first two verses of Fractals:
On the rocks
where her skull opened
to set free and scatter
scarlet butterflies in their millions
alongside the shoreside
the cliff rise
the dark coastal crush
where the monochrome
a long exposure
of cliff erosion
I plan on making a few more of these over the next few weeks.
