|Inktober #18 #19 #20|
I decided to make the last three pieces around Welcome to Night Vale as I saw their live show in Birmingham on Sunday 19th October.
The show was amazing and the venue was perfect- the Glee Club, Birmingham. I even managed to get my tickets and Night Vale tour poster signed by the cast after the show.
Each of these inktober pieces is 7.66 x 6.71cm and is acrylic ink and Pigma ink pen on 250gsm paper.
This is a postcard created specifically for a postcard swap I am participating in with Mayparis of Youtube. She sent me a lovely postcard of Lamp-posts in Love – a sculpture in Kiev, Ukraine.
The postcard has the base ink directly on it, whereas the butterflies were drawn and inked onto acrylic paper, cut out and attached onto the postcard.
Puzzle with a piece missing, ink, cut text, ink pen, acetate print, 17.3 x 23cm
The next piece done for my ongoing Gotye project.
With this piece I wanted to capture the overall sombre feeling of the song. I decided to use muted blue and purple ink accented with simple black and white. I also wanted the figure to look and solemn reflective with the jigsaw texture (and the absent pieces) as an obvious link to the song title.
The subtle graphics in the background ink is a collage made in Photoshop from vintage diagrams and text, printed onto acetate and then onto the ink base. The text in the piece is a couple of lines from the song.
