I was busy with various things yesterday so I didn’t have time to upload yesterday’s Inktober piece. I decided to upload both yesterday’s and today’s ink pieces together.
A small ink piece on an off cut of cardboard- it’s starting to feel like Autumn here in the UK finally- I wanted to reflect this.
I created this drawing on a collaged page in my Moleskine- the page is covered with train ticket scans and gesso as a base for the top ink.
Inspired by the beautiful stormy weather here in the UK at the moment.
With this piece I experimented with some acrylic ink layering in my Moleskine. The base layer is a printout of a book scan (the standard Moleskine sketchbook isn’t really designed to hold this much wet medium so this helps protect the pages underneath) and I mixed the ink together with water straight on to the page with the help of a sponge.
This has about 5 thin layers of mixed ink- each layer was left to dry in between. I then drew in the bottom form and the top clouds with black ink and finished with white ink pen lines.
A couple of recent Moleskine pages. Top image is finished and is an idea for a larger piece of work.
Bottom image is two prepped pages ready for pen, ink and text.

I’m really enjoying drawing skulls recently.
Woman image inspired by this stock photo.
Stories, acrylic ink, collage, cut text and pigment ink pen in Moleskine sketchbook.
Cut text reads:
That is the time of the year,
full of fog,
I looked forward to tea,
in front of cheap
Just a little inky something in my Moleskine…
Acrylic ink and acrylic paint.
