|Collage 10 of 31|
Soar- digital collage using vintage magazine scans, vintage postcards, patterned paper scans, books scans, textures and stamps.
Today I wanted to play around with textures again, seeing how many elements I could overlap without overcrowding the overall image. The main aircraft image is from a 1937 aircraft race programme, I duplicated it at different sizes to see if I could effectively use a single image to create a dynamic subject matter.
Above, mixed media- acrylic ink, tissue paper, ink transfer, ink pen on paper, 10.3 x 15.5cm
A quick little piece to use up a few scrap pieces of paper material- also I love Douglas DC2s and I haven’t drawn any for a while.
I also had a frame to fit this so I actually framed a piece straight away rather than it being rolled and put into art storage.
Airborne, ink and acrylic paint on paper, 29.7 x 42.0cm
My submission for this week’s Illustration Friday topic Airborne.
I’ll be at Cosford Air Show this Sunday selling artwork and various other handmade things- this will be one of the artworks for sale and will be framed.
Cockpit, ink and cut text on 300gsm paper, 21.5 x 22.5cm
