Inktober and Drawlloween day 27– Witch
Witch Hazel and Kiki (and Jiji of course) riding their broomsticks by each other. I couldn’t decide on which character to draw so I ended up drawing both of them together.
I’m not sure if I’m happy with the sea in this piece- I started using an India ink brush pen and then realised that it didn’t really give the effect that I wanted. I did scan in the line art before adding the ink so I may create another piece with it, maybe something mixed media next time.
The landscape below was done entirely with different layers of ink and a tiny brush.
Uni Pin pigment ink liner, Faber Castell grey brush pen, Daler Rowney acrylic inks on A5 250 gsm paper.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 26– Rat
Another small drawing, I decided to draw a rat silhouette on one of the small ink cards I created a couple of months ago. I have three left to decide what to do with.
You can still see some of my pencil lines as this type of card did not agree with the eraser that I have.
This piece is inked with Daler Rowney acrylic ink, brushes and a Uni Pin pigment ink liner.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 25- Mummy
This is quite a small drawing on an equally small rectangle of watercolour paper.
I definitely wanted texture in this piece so I tried to keep my brushes as dry as possible.
This piece is inked with Daler Rowney acrylic ink and small detail brushes.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 21- 8 bit zombie.
An 8 bit zombie Luigi because I had no idea what else to do for this prompt and I at least wanted to make it a little bit interesting. I also like Luigi more than Mario- is that weird?
I should have known but creating artwork in this style with ink and a brush is quite annoying.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 10, 11, 12- Alien, Raven, Moon
Having to post these together as I didn’t find the time over the weekend to get to my laptop to upload these.
These drawings are all tiny ones in my A6 sketchbook, definitely done for quickness but I still quite like how they turned out. The Raven and Moon piece evolved from very messy doodles.
The Moon piece also started out as a doodle that was supposed to be a wolf silhouette in font of a moon but the ‘wolf’ form that I sketched out reminded me of Haku (in his dragon form) from Spirited Away so I went with that.
All three drawings are inked with Uni Pin black fineliners, Daler Rowney acrylic ink and a couple of small, detail brushes.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 9- Eyeball
Today and the the next couple of days are probably only going to be small, quick ink drawings as I’ll be out and about with the bf for my birthday weekend (my actual birthday isn’t until Thursday but next weekend I’m busy at an art and crafts fair).
So here is a cute, little, squishy eyeball- cute probably isn’t the best word, but you know what I mean.
Drawn out with pencil first and then inked directly with brushes and acrylic ink in my A6 sketchbook.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 8- Zombie
I’m not the biggest fan of zombies, I’ve never really cared for them as a horror theme. I don’t mind some zombies- the ones in Resident Evil and Dead Rising for example but for the majority of the time I’m kind of meh about them.
I was stuck deciding on what I was going to draw for today but I scrolled through my inspiration/reference image folder and had this image of a lighthouse so I used that as a starting point, picked up my pencil and just went with it. Zombies stumbling towards a lighthouse because why not?
This is done with a Pilot V5 ink pen, water, black acrylic ink and a couple of Aquafine brushes on A5 250gsm paper.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 7- Haunted House
I have a weird love for old, creepy looking houses. As you can see, this one is occupied by friendly looking ghosts.
This is done with a Pilot V5 ink pen, water, black acrylic ink and a couple of small detail brushes on A5 250gsm paper.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 6- Pumpkin
I wanted to do a little bit of Over The Garden Wall fanart for today- I thought the topic Pumpkin seemed quite fitting.
As you can see, I watered down my black ink and built up the layers of colour.
I highly recommend OTGW and this month is a great time to watch it if you haven’t already.
This is done with acrylic ink, couple of brushes and a 0.3 Letraset fineliner in my A6 sketchbook.
Inktober and Drawlloween day 5- Werewolf
Went a little overboard with ink on this one but that’s okay.
This is done with acrylic ink, couple of brushes and a Pilot V5 ink pen in my A6 sketchbook.
